In 2019, Drain-All established the Malcolm McMillan Health & Safety award in honour of a beloved employee and leader who passed away. Malcolm was instrumental in developing and supervising Drain-All’s Emergency Response Team, and was respected by all who worked with him.
Every year, Drain-All recognizes one worker from each of our facilities who has made a meaningful contribution to our overall health and safety program. For 2020, we are pleased to honour the following individuals:
Craig Burkill, who works at our Stevenage plant in Ottawa, makes preventative maintenance and safety a top priority in everything he does. In addition to doing equipment check and new equipment implementation, Craig takes an active role monitoring safety devices and assisting and educating employees on safety-related topics. He also supports the Napanee facility with training and preventative maintenance tasks. Thank you Craig for your efforts in promoting safety in the workplace.

Steve Tebworth, who works at our Napanee plant, coordinates and manages our Household Hazardous Waste Program. Health & safety is a critical component of running an HHW event. Not only is Steve responsible for the health and safety of Drain-All employees – many of whom are temporary and young workers – but he is also responsible for the safety of the general public. Steve’s excellent health & safety record reflect the effort he puts in, and Steve well deserves this recognition.

Mat Corbeil promotes a proactive safety culture at our Ottawa Hawthorne Facility, where he works, as well in Fleet Division. He has been an active member of Drain-All’s Joint Health & Safety Committee for six years, which has led to improvements in Drain-All’s safety record. Mat supervises and coordinates the safety of our fleet and is always willing to educate and provide other departments with updates on regulatory changes for day-to-day fleet operation. Thank you Mat for your dedication and attention to detail, helping to improve the health of our workplace and the safe running of our fleet.
